Screening and selecting businesses are the first step in the private equity investment process and arguably a key part in determining whether an investment succeeds or fails.

So how do private equity firms select their next investment? What makes a good investment opportunity for private equity? What are the key elements that private equity firms need to see in order to invest in a business?
